Thoroughly tested at our plant and just accepted by the customer, our 2-side pre-bending press is now ready to be dismantled and shipped to Panama City, Florida.
Once it arrives at Borusan Berg Pipe’s facility, we will reassemble and commission it on site. Thanks to the complete pre-commissioning carried out at our plant, installation and start-up time at the customer’s site will be significantly reduced.
Together with additional machines and roller conveyors that we will manufacture and deliver over the coming months, the pre-bending press is part of a production line for producing large-diameter pipes for the energy sector.
The machine performs the first bending step from plate to pipe: it simultaneously bends both longitudinal plate edges in a step-by-step process. The plate is then transported via a roller conveyor to the bending press.
The real highlight lies in our tooling. It is designed so that:
- any plate waviness across the entire plate length is avoided, and
- a very wide range of plate thicknesses and pipe diameters can be covered with very few tools.
In addition, Borusan Berg Pipe will now be able to carry out tool changes extremely quickly: thanks to a second tool-change unit, the complete tool setup can be prepared outside the machine, keeping downtime to an absolute minimum.
